Rocks from the Forbidden City series II
Hans Fonk will present his Chinese rocks II series, From the Forbidden City Beijing, at the PTgallery in Bangkok during the Bangkok Art Week under auspicien of the French Embassy. The grand opening is on January 27th 2018 followed by the ‘Nuits des Gallaries’ on February 9th.
The Dutch Global Nomad and Photographer Hans Fonk presents 10 art pieces of his China Rock Collection series II: the artist’s interpretation of the rapid change China underwent in the last decades. Hans Fonk shows large images of ancient rocks from the Royal Palace juxtaposed to the humble Hutongs. The artist printed his photos on canvas, a canvas he then finishes combining traditional Chinese pigments, watercolors and old Dutch oil paints.
The exposition is part of the Cross Cultural Creations event by P.Tendercool spread out over three venues at walking distance close to the Chao Phraya river in the hearth of old Bangkok.
Part of the Cross Cultural Event will also be Tattoo artists Tantai, CZ and Luke Satoru who will each show their work on custom tattooed leather chairs. The third major event is the tour backstage of the Gallery, Warehouse and PTlab of P.Tendercoll, founded by Belgians Pieter Compernol and Stephanie Grusenmeyer.
